People all over America make resolutions when the clock ticks midnight, making it a new year. They want to see a change in their lives. This year I want to see something change in our community. In 2018 I want more rescue animals finding a home and shown love.
How do you view God? There are so many misconceptions about God. God is not a “genie in a bottle”. Our wish is not his command. God is not a “Santa Claus God” who simply exists to bring us good gifts. God is not a “911 God” who we only call when we have an emergency and need him to extinguish a major problem in our lives. God is not an “old man in the sky” who sounds like Morgan Freeman. God is not a “cosmic cop” who flies around the world looking to punish those who break his rules.
Spring is the best time at Magic Moment because of all the diverse events we can photograph. We go from sports fields to pageants, to father-daughter dances and begin our graduation events. An added factor is always the unpredictable weather. We are bundled up in winter coats on Monday, and the kids are running around the yard in shorts on Wednesday, and we check the weather obsessively hoping to get our shoots in.
This is a question with which most of us must deal at some point. In our society, we tend to buy larger houses as our family grows and fill those houses with “stuff.” In some cases, lots and lots of stuff.
During your teenage years, throwing a “sweet sixteen” party is one of the most anticipated events you will experience.
All my life, I have been a swimmer. I have participated on a recreational, competitive, and an elite level, but, recently, the tables turned. I became the one directing and carrying out practices. I became the face kids looked forward to seeing every day.
This is a question not asked often enough. None of us likes to think about aging. We don’t like to think about getting sick and not being able to make decisions about our health or finances. However, now is the time to deal with these decisions. If you don’t make your wishes known while you still can, someone else will be tasked with those weighty matters.
The Society of Humane Friends of Georgia is an animal rescue group located in Lawrenceville which works to save cats and dogs from the streets and euthanizing shelters. Kay Young, a member of the society, describes the group as: “A 501 C3 group of loving volunteers headed by Dennis Kronenfeld and Chandler Riddett dedicated to helping abandoned and abused animals in the state of Georgia.”
Music is the language of the universe. When I first picked up an instrument in a fifth grade fair, it was not my destined one. As I uncomfortably placed a violin under my chin, I recoiled from the feeling and put it down, disgusted.
