The group wedding at Pinckneyville Center

It’s a matter of time

The Pinckneyville Park Recreation Center in Berkeley Lake was starting to fill up.  It was an eclectic mix of men and women: different ages, different races, and different styles of dress. One thing they had in common, however, was the constant checking of time.  On this day, time was of the essence.

Challenge, connect and encourage

Challenge, connect and encourage
By NG3 staff

At NG3, staff members invest time weekly with a small group of students in an effort to challenge them, connect in a more meaningful way, and encourage them to impact their respective communities. These small groups are at the heart of NG3 and are called huddle groups.

Far too often, high school students feel the world revolves around them.  Part of the mission of NG3 is to lead these young men and women to serve our communities and show how gratifying a selfless life can be.  This is why Community is one of the three C’s of NG3.  At South Gwinnett High School, NG3 staff director Michael Woelfl leads his huddle group to invest in the life of a fellow student affectionately known as “Touchdown Richard”, at least until baseball season, when he becomes, “Home-run Richard”.

Have a wonderful 2015!

Brand new year! Yay!! I hope this finds everyone healthy and happy. The holidays can be an emotional time. When were kids it was all about lights, presents and Santa. It still can be for us young at heart. But we seem to find ourselves, as adults, rushing around and hurrying to get EVERYTHING DONE! And really… ‘the reason for the season’ sometimes gets lost.

Kindness Knows No Borders

The New Year is a time that makes us all reflect on the world we live in and the changes that could make the world a better place for all.  Perhaps we could start with kindness.

A tradition of winning

Winning is not something that the Grayson Golden Rams go for every Saturday…it’s tradition!  They are the Competition Cheerleaders that represent Grayson High School.  Both JV and Varsity practice everyday after school in the GHS strength center.  On Saturdays, they travel to other high schools and compete in cheerleading competitions.  This season they brought home a total of 8 trophies.  The Golden Rams have always been successful in GHSA AAAAAA.

Oh December with your holiday parties, shopping, gift giving and places to be for this month in Gwinnett County!  This is one of the busiest times and probably one of the most fun times of the year.  Of course by now you should have gotten that live Christmas tree and if you haven’t I am sure Randy’s Nursery on highway 29 still has a few left for you.  I am told David at Randy’s Nursery has “the sturdy kind that doesn’t mind the snow.”
