I missed y’all last month, sorry I had a lot on my plate. As I sit here writing this, I am also watching my husband sleep. He had an accident earlier this month and now a tough recovery.

On Wednesday, May 28, at the monthly general meeting of H2U. there were 64 recipients of the President’s Volunteer Service Award. Of these 15 people received the Gold Award having completed 500 hours of community service.
School’s out for summer!!

What time is it? Summer time! The school year comes to an end with graduations, pool parties, or last day of school celebrations. Although this all seems exciting, students at Couch Middle School are ready for the pool, beach, sun and summer fun!
Thirty years after women became 50 percent of the college graduates in the United States, men still hold the vast majority of leadership positions in government and industry.
I have told the stories. I have written the stories. Now, I want to share where the love and fascination of all of that started. The start of my hunger for history. During the long, hot summers in my youth, I wore out many bicycle tires in making my rounds to hear story after story of old Grayson past.
As always, my view from the bleachers is a window on the community. This issue, many of the views shared have been from the graduation arena.
