When the Gwinnett Citizen asked me to start writing a column in the paper every month, I was so excited.

I missed y’all last month, sorry I had a lot on my plate. As I sit here writing this, I am also watching my husband sleep. He had an accident earlier this month and now a tough recovery.

To misquote Dr. Suess ABOUT Dr. Suess “Oh the Graduations you’ve been”. However, after many years of nearly universal citing in graduation speeches, this year, the brilliant Dr. Seuss was replaced in Gwinnett County High School Graduation Speeches by….. “The Selfie”.

THINKERS
* When you walk what you talk
people listen.
* If you can read and don’t you are an illiterate by choice.
* The trouble with most of us is that we would rather be ruined by praise than saved by criticism.
* In youth we learn in age we understand.
* You’ll never get ahead until you start advancing.
* Do not let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do.
* Life is a great big canvas and you should throw all the paint
on it you can.
* Big shots are little shots who keep shooting.

School’s out for summer!!

School’s out for summer!!

What time is it? Summer time! The school year comes to an end with graduations, pool parties, or last day of school celebrations. Although this all seems exciting, students at Couch Middle School are ready for the pool, beach, sun and summer fun!

Women vs Men

Why women are weaker and “NOT” equal

Precious memories, how they linger

I have told the stories. I have written the stories. Now, I want to share where the love and fascination of all of that started. The start of my hunger for history. During the long, hot summers in my youth, I wore out many bicycle tires in making my rounds to hear story after story of old Grayson past.

Mentoring through the years

As always, my view from the bleachers is a window on the community. This issue, many of the views shared have been from the graduation arena.
