Local Rotarians visit CDC and take POLIO LAB tour

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention celebrated World Polio Day, October 21st, by inviting Rotary International guests to a special tour and program at their facility in Atlanta. Rotary International has been a major contributor to the effort to eradicate polio from the world, and this event was designed to offer thanks for that support.

Students in the Grizzly Rotaract Club at Georgia Gwinnett College are dedicated to serving their community.  They meet every two weeks in the Student Union room 2161 and plan projects.

On October 23, Gwinnett County Parks and Recreation, Live Healthy Gwinnett and several community partners hosted a Lights On Afterschool event at Alexander Park. The theme was Hollywood: A Walk Among the Stars. Kids and participants dressed as their favorite stars, walked the red carpet, and took part in educational and physical fitness activities.
