Grayson, GA – In November 2013, Grayson was among 18 cities in Georgia chosen to participate as a Start-Up Community for the Main Street Program which is managed by the Georgia Department of Community Affairs. Medicare is a health Insurance program that provides benefits for people 65 and older as well as certain people affected by disabilities. It consists of the following choices:
Part A: In order to qualify for Part A, a person must have worked 40 quarters (or 10 years). Part A helps cover hospital in-patient care, skilled nursing care, home health care and Hospice. A deductible of $1,216.00 for days 1-60 in hospital was in place for 2014. Cost sharing costs (days 61-90) is $304.00 per day. Part A covers the first 20 days in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF). For days 21 – 100 there is cost sharing by the individual of $152.00 per day. There is also cost sharing for certain home health and hospice care.

The class of 1982 is turning 50 this year. Mary Walsh Stone and Connie Covington Brands are both graduates of Brookwood who transferred from South Gwinnett to be part of the first ever Brookwood senior class. They thought it would be a blast to have a sort of Birthday Party. The “50 Rocks Party!” will be at held at Gianni’s Italian Bistro at Lake Lanier Islands. South Gwinnett and Brookwood graduates are welcome.
‘Bosom Buddies’ to speak at book reading
Snellville – They’re called the Bosom Buddies. Authors Gail Mosby and Kathie Van Landingham have been pals since they were 2 years old, back when they were making mud pies in a makeshift oven.
