This year marked the 50th Anniversary of the Vietnam War, and Gwinnett County’s Veterans Day Tribute was an official homecoming welcome for Vietnam War Veterans. Held at the Gwinnett Fallen Heroes Memorial located at the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center in Lawrenceville, Georgia, the program highlighted a symbolic return march home in which the veterans received a standing ovation. Once they assembled, a ceremonial yellow ribbon was cut in their honor. Sergeant Major Patrick C. Amos delivered the keynote speech.
Grayson among selected for Georgia’s Main Street Start-up Program
Statewide program encourages downtown development
Grayson, GA – The Georgia Department of Community Affairs (GDCA) announced that Grayson is one of nineteen Georgia cities selected to join the Main Street Start-up Program, which provides technical assistance to cities looking to improve their downtowns.

Giveback mission
At a time of year when most children are excitedly awaiting the day they can tear into the presents beneath their tree, the children of Auriana’s Giveback Mission are preparing to sponsor 250 homeless and low-income children over the Gwinnett and Hall area.
Aysha Cooper is no ordinary business owner. For that matter, she is no ordinary mom, student or volunteer either. First and foremost, she is the best mom she knows how to be to her “almost 7” year old son. One of the most important parts of being the best mom she knows how to be is in setting a good example as a whole and well-rounded person.
Franklin “Wayne” Lisle
Franklin “Wayne” Lisle, age 78, was called to his Heavenly home 11/30/2013. Most recently, he had resided in Jefferson and Gainesville, Ga. He was born 12/16/1934 in Columbus, Ga. to the late Hubert Wayne Lisle and Wanda Estelle Horton Lisle.
