Snellville Native Serves at Camp Smith in Hawaii

PEARL HARBOR –A Snellville, Georgia, native and 2006 Tucker High School graduate is serving in the U.S. Navy at United States Pacific Command. 

Petty Officer 2nd Class James Mullen, a mass communication specialist, is serving at Camp H. M. Smith in the area of operations where U.S. Pacific Fleet Headquarters is located.

Governor Deal signs House Bill 673 into law

Drivers will no longer be allowed to hold or support a phone with their body starting July 1

(STATESBORO) –  Governor Nathan Deal made Georgia the 16th state in the nation to enact a law banning drivers from having a cellphone in their hand when he signed House Bill 673 Wednesday afternoon in Statesboro.

Snellville Commerce Club awards two students with $1,000 scholarships

SNELLVILLE – The Snellville Commerce Club rewarded two area students with $1,000 scholarship checks Tuesday.

Each year, the Snellville Commerce Club, the business arm of Snellville Tourism and Trade, awards two $1,000 scholarships to a student active in either FBLA or the DECA program from Brookwood and South Gwinnett high schools. Students must demonstrate academic success and have been engaged in the community. 

Norcross Community Market receives grant from AgSouth Farm Credit

Norcross Community Market one of fifty markets throughout AgSouth’s territory in Georgia and South Carolina to receive a portion of $25,000 in total grant funds

Norcross – Norcross Community Market has announced that it was selected to receive an AgSouth Farm Credit farmers market support grant in the amount of $500. The market was one of fifty markets throughout AgSouth’s territory in Georgia and South Carolina to receive a portion of $25,000 in total grant funds. The grant will be used for advertising and promotion of the venue.
