2017 proposed budget invests in public safety, judical system and community engagement

Gwinnett Commission Chairman Charlotte Nash presented a proposed $1.56 billion budget for fiscal year 2017 to the public and the Board of Commissioners during a briefing on Tuesday. The proposed budget is up about 5.5 percent from this year and includes a $1.18 billion operating budget plus another $384 million for capital improvements.

August 23, 2014 is a date Dee (Dorothy) Moore will forever hold in her memory. It was on that day the Dacula resident was told she had Stage 4 adeno non-small cell lung cancer. She was shocked. She had never smoked! How could she have lung cancer?

Mayor Judy Jordan Johnson was presented the Shackelford Alumni Achievement Award by LaGrange College during homecoming activities Oct. 22.

The honor is given annually to alumni who have distinguished themselves professionally and brought honor to the college.
