Brookwood High media specialist honored as district’s best

Brookwood High School’s Jan Wilson is Gwinnett County Public Schools’ Library Media Specialist of the Year. Wilson, who has 19 years’ experience, has developed a successful program that is exemplary in the promotion of reading, information technology utilization, collaborative and innovative techniques, and community involvement.

Nancy Chilcoat and Linda Newton of the Lilburn Woman’s Club recently received a proclamation from Lilburn Mayor Crist declaring April, 2016, Child Abuse Prevention Month in Lilburn.

The Lilburn Woman’s Club is part of the largest women’s club in the world – the International Federation of Women’s Club (GFWC).

Lawrenceville – The City of Lawrenceville’s Police Department was awarded a 2016 Medal of Valor Award as the Public Safety Unit of the Year for the achievements of its Crime Suppression Unit (CSU).
