SGHS alumni battles 2nd round of brain cancer

South Gwinnett 1982 classmate and Snellville friend, Terry Downs, is bravely fighting his 2nd round of brain cancer. First diagnosed in 2008 with IV Glioblastoma cancer, Terry was given just 18 months to live. However, after a successful surgery, intense radiation and support from friends and family, he beat that round of cancer.

Such is the case with Dan Chelko who was recently inducted into the Brookwood High School Hall of Fame along with former student Sean Johnson, goalkeeper for the Chicago Fire and the USA National team.

For Grayson’s Writer-in-Residence, Joey Hancock, Christmas stories are as much a part of the fabric of a Christmas memory as his mother’s embroidered poinsettia tablecloth. In fact, it was that embroidered tablecloth that led him to describe the stories he tells as “embroidered truths.”
Crews Middle partnering for Financial Literacy
