Nonprofit Organization, Helping Mamas, brought back the famed, cast-member attended Ultimate Bachelor Viewing Party, Monday, August 19, 2019, for the third year in a row filled with Bachelors and bubbles. The viewing party was center around a fiery episode of Bachelor in Paradise, with cast members mingling and answering a fan-fueled Q&A.

On Saturday, September 7, Eastside Medical Center will host “Crush the Crisis,” an opioid take back event. Law enforcement officers from the Snellville Police Department will be on-site to assist with the collection and disposal of unused medications from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Gwinnett County Eco-Focused Nonprofit Teams Up with Organizers for 31st Annual Lake Lanier Shore Sweep and 2019 Yellow River Trash Bash on September 14
Saturday, September 14 has all the makings for a very busy day in Gwinnett thanks to two water-focused cleanup events: the 31st Annual Lake Lanier Shore Sweep and the 4th Annual Yellow River Trash Bash. Gwinnett Clean & Beautiful is proud to team up with the organizers of both events and would like to issue a call to volunteers to take part in the event of their choosing. Both are intended to clean up the shores, waters and land surrounding two important water sources in Georgia – Lake Lanier and the Yellow River.
This August, a group of 632 students begin the school year at the new McClure Health Science High School in Duluth — a $38 million-dollar Gwinnett County Public Schools facility where high school students can earn college credit and industry experience while working towards their diploma.
It is estimated that there are more than 1.6 million caregivers in the metro Atlanta area and at least 266,000 right here in Gwinnett County. There are parents in our community caring for adult children with developmental disabilities, traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries, autism, cystic fibrosis, mental illness, and other ongoing medical conditions. Some families are caring for aging parents whose physical or mental capacities are beginning to fail. There are spouses of disabled loved ones, families coping with long-term treatments or debilitating chronic diseases, and a large number of disabled veterans needing support.
In 1976 a young woman with a very special talent-spotted an article in a Farmer’s Market brochure looking for vendors for an event called Lilburn Daze. It would be the third year of Lilburn Daze and hosted by the Lilburn Woman’s Club and the City of Lilburn and would be held in a K-Mart parking lot in Lilburn.
“I had no clue what I wanted to paint when I got started. I read somewhere that a good way to figure that out is to start art journaling, so I started sketching every day, and this is where that process lead me,” said Jacqui Miller, whose work was displayed with the Clay and Canvas exhibit this summer at the City of Sugar Hill.
Whether singing in the church choir or molding clay behind the wheel, Richard Shivers hopes that his work will inspire and enrich those who experience it.
