Last year, Gwinnett County launched a new initiative to help local residents rid their homes and businesses of hazardous waste like spray pesticides, antifreeze, spray paint, auto batteries, cooking grease, fluorescent bulbs, lawn care products, paint thinners, wood preservatives and more.

Gwinnett Clerk of Courts Announce New Web Portal Launch

Richard T. Alexander Jr., Esq., Clerk of Courts in the Gwinnett Judicial Circuit, launched the clerk’s new web portal July 10, 2019. The new portal will take the place of the previous webpage and is compatible with the clerk’s new case management system, Odyssey, by Tyler Technologies Inc.

In 1944, community members united to launch the humble Joan Glancy Memorial Hospital in Duluth. Much has changed over the past seven-plus decades—a new name, several facility upgrades, and a change in services as a new hospital was built down the street in 2006, just to name a few—but its mission of providing quality care has not.

GDOT looking for input on future Scenic Highway widening project

The Georgia Department of Transportation is in the beginning stages of project development for the widening of Scenic Highway from Highway 78 to Sugarloaf Parkway and is looking for input on how the project will affect environmental, economic and social concerns in the area.
There is no immediate timeline for this project.

The Borrego twins— Juan and Marco. These fifteen-year-old, rising sophomores are the founders of Vaping Attention to Prevention, a nonprofit organization.

Twin brothers Juan and Marco Borrego are upcoming sophomores at Buford High School. Last year, they participated in NPR’s high school podcast challenge, and along the way, they’ve founded a nonprofit organization “Vaping Attention to Prevention.”
