Commissioners approve contract to renovate Norcross Senior Center

The Norcross Senior Center soon will undergo a renovation to make the facility more comfortable and convenient for Gwinnett’s aging population. On Tuesday the Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners approved a $974,102 contract with Diversified Construction of Georgia to add space and amenities to the center, including an improved entrance, a new covered drop-off area, and interior updates.

Norcross Art Splash is now Norcross Art Splash & Wine Festival

Norcross – Norcross Art Splash, always filled with whimsical and fun art, has a new feature this fall that is sure to tantalize the crowds. The 15th annual art celebration, now called Norcross Art Splash & Wine Festival, will showcase an outdoor wine tasting venue which highlights 60 wines “from around the world.” Cindy Flynn, one of the Art Splash & Wine Festival’s producers laughs, “Art buyers love wine, and wine drinkers love to buy art.”

Gwinnett Medical Center-Duluth Receives National Recognition for Critical Care Excellence

Lawrenceville – The Gwinnett Medical Center-Duluth Intensive Care Unit recently received a Beacon Award for Excellence from the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN). This prestigious award has three levels, with GMC-Duluth receiving the highest honors with its gold-level designation. The ICU is a three-time recipient of the Beacon Award and is one of only four units in the state to currently hold gold level status.

Gwinnett Technical College Hits Record-Breaking Enrollment High

For the third consecutive year, Gwinnett Technical College has recorded the highest enrollment numbers in the College’s 34-year history. More than 12,000 students across Gwinnett and North Fulton enrolled at Gwinnett Tech for exceptional educational programs and exciting career opportunities. The 2018 academic year’s enrollment took a sizeable jump, recording an 8.5% uptick over a year ago.
