City of Duluth delivers Blue Santa

City of Duluth delivers Blue Santa

Duluth - This year the Duluth Police Department received a grant from Wal-Mart to help support residents and children in need within the city limits of Duluth. This year the City of Duluth sponsored (29) children by purchasing Christmas gifts under a program we have called Blue Santa.

City of Duluth employees with a cartful of gifts going to 29 children through Blue SantaThe children’s ages range from 11 weeks old to 16 years of age. The Police Department has had this program for several years and has been able to assist hundreds of families in our community in recent years.

The Duluth Police Department also chose to sponsor a retirement community located inside the City of Duluth, by purchasing food trays from the Duluth Wal-Mart. The food trays will be delivered for the residents to enjoy during this year’s Holiday season.

The Duluth Police department was able to purchase food trays this year for Peachtree Christian Hospice located inside the City of Duluth. Those food trays will be for the residents and family members during the Holiday season.

The City of Duluth is very fortunate to have Wal-Mart as a partner to help make this Christmas a very special one for so many children and members of our community.

The Duluth Police Department also participated in and was a drop off for Toys for Tots. We have collected hundreds of toys from generous members of the community and city employees. This is a great cause and will help hundreds of children with them waking up to see that Santa delivered to their home this year.

The City of Duluth would like to thank everyone involved this year for their generosity and support this year.

Thank you.

Sgt. Steve Daniels
