Norcross (Gwinnett County), GA (April 21, 2017) – Enjoy the “sweet sounds of summer” in downtown Norcross and get ready for some serious fun as the city kicks off an exciting lineup of events beginning in May. Designed to encourage citizens and neighbors to explore and enjoy downtown Norcross, this year’s summer experience has something for everyone.

Highlights include the Summer Concert Series beginning on May 26, the Memorial Day Celebration on May 29, the Bluesberry and Beer Festival on June 17, Jazz in the Alley beginning on June 24 and Red White & BOOM on July 3. Promised to be music to your ears, the City of Norcross invites you to join them in grooving to 80’s music, singing along to Jimmy Buffet tunes, swaying to cool jazz, and enjoying the sweet sounds of summer at a multitude of events throughout the coming months.
 
“We are thrilled to offer our citizens and friends of Norcross a celebration of summer through these event and concert offerings,” said City of Norcross Mayor Bucky Johnson. “We invite everyone to come out and enjoy the creative energy of our city.”
 
The Summer Concert Series kicks off on Friday, May 26 and continues thru September in Thrasher Park. On June 17, the Bluesberry and Beer Festival will be held in Betty Mauldin Park and Jones St. from 3 – 10 p.m. Your mood will surely lighten with the lineup of blues musicians set to entertain into the evening. Don’t forget to look for Norcross’ downtown merchants and restaurants that will be creating signature “Bluesberry” cocktails, desserts, specials and more! Jazz in the Alley returns once again on June 24 as Betty Mauldin Park is transformed into a street party with a funky vibe for four great concerts into September. And summertime wouldn’t be complete with a celebration of America’s Independence. On July 3, the City of Norcross will light up night sky at its signature Red White & BOOM celebration complete with fireworks and family fun.
