City of Norcross Presents Jazz in the Alley Concert Series

Musicians to Perform on July 16, August 13, September 24 and October 8

Norcross - The City of Norcross is pleased to play host once again to its much beloved Jazz in the Alley concert series on July 16, August 13, September 24 and October 8 at Betty Mauldin Park from 7:30 – 9:30 p.m.

Experience jazz at its best as the  tunes take over Betty Mauldin Park late summer thru early fall. Local eateries will be jazzing things up with some delish chef specials to-go that will help make Jazz in the Alley the perfect date night or girl’s night out. During the band breaks, concert-goers can take an easy stroll and check out the deals in Norcross’ downtown shops.  

JazzAlley20150613 9190The July 16th concert will feature Laura Coyle who is one of the most sought-after singers on the Atlanta jazz scene. Laura brings a timeless voice and masterful sense of swing to her performances. She collaborates with many of the best musicians in the city and sings with a genuine love for the lyrics, and thetraditions of jazz music.

Eric Thomas is the featured musician for the August 13th concert. With an incomparable sound, Eric has captivated and electrified audiences all over. Based in Atlanta and a graduate of Georgia State University, Eric has performed at various shows and eventsfrom Bermuda to California and everywhere in between. In every city Eric has played, he left the audience with only one question, “When is he coming back?” 

norcross logo190Jazz artist Tony Hightower will perform on September 24thwhere concert-goers will experience his new age cool that is part homage and part regeneration. Being not only an admirer but a student of the genre, Tony’s passion and direct connection to jazz music allows him the advantage of properly emulating the timelessness of the classics without the kitsch while still injecting his own interpretations.

Rounding out the concert series, Gabbie McGee will perform on October 8th. Gabbie’s voice is as rich as the Mississippi Delta soil she proudly calls home! Currently residing in Atlanta for the last 15 years, Gabbie has been honing her skills as a vocalist and building her resume as a music industry professional.
