The draft recommendations are organized as short-, mid-, and long-range plans and consider an array of transit modes and technologies to build a sustainable system that will help define the County’s future.
Transit is a hot topic in the region at the moment, with multiple legislative bills and concurrent transit planning studies happening in metro Atlanta. Beyond what the data tells us, what is in a transit bill, or what a group of engineers and planners has designed, I believe that our transit plan needs to be guided by what our community wants from its transit system. That’s why public involvement and input is crucial to the development of this plan. To that end, the planning team is beginning the second phase of public outreach to help refine the draft recommendations. Representatives are planning to attend events around the community, conduct an online survey, facilitate a phone survey, and host public meetings to gather input from Gwinnett residents, employees, and visitors.
The Connect Gwinnett team will host a series of public meetings designed for drop-in attendance. Each one will begin with an informational presentation, so please join the meeting most convenient for you and help us #ConnectGwinnettTransit.
