Dobbs – Wade

Jessica Renea Dobbs and Travis Donald Wade celebrated their marriage covenant with their closest family and friends on Saturday, October 22, 2016.  The ceremony took place at four o’clock in the afternoon at Grace New-Hope Church in Lawrenceville, Georgia, where they are both members.  Many of the decorations were handmade wooden items by Travis and Jessica.

Mr. and Mrs. Travis Wade

On the eve of the wedding, the groom’s family hosted a rehearsal dinner at McCray’s Tavern Restaurant in downtown Lawrenceville, Georgia.

The ceremony was officiated by Pastor Randy Rainwater.   There was a unity candle wrapped in the Bible verse 1 Corinthians 13:4 that the couple lit to signify the start of their marriage.  The couple also tied a Fisherman’s Knot to represent their past, their own individual and separate lives before their wedding.  While intertwining their pieces of rope, they joined their two lives into one, representing their future together as one.  The completed knot is a symbol of their future and how their love and marriage will continue to be strong throughout the many years to come.

The bride is the granddaughter of Preston and Ann Burch Dobbs of Loganville, Georgia.  Jessica is also the great granddaughter of the late Ed and Roberta Hilton Burch of Hiawassee, Georgia and the late Pleas and Guessie Dobbs of Atlanta, Georgia.

The groom is the son of Gary and Dale Wade of Buford, Georgia and Cindy and Ken Smith of Loganville, Georgia.  Travis is the grandson of Dee Ann Donald and the late Jack Donald of Loganville, Georgia.  He is also the grandson of Gerald and Betty Wade of Jasper, Georgia.

The bride was given in marriage by her family and was escorted by her uncle.  The maid of honor was Sara Chambers, along with bridesmaids Mallory Sosebee, Ansley Christopher, and Kacey Green.  Junior bridesmaids Grace Tygert and Kyla Scott also joined the bride in the wedding ceremony.  The flower girl was Blakely Scott and the ring bearer was Peyton Ensman.  The best man was the groom’s father, Gary Wade.  Travis was also joined by groomsmen Dean Lorentz, Lee Braswell, and his brother Chad Glidewell.  Travis also added a pair of Converse shoes to serve in memory of close friend AJ Anderson.  The shoes were an actual pair AJ frequently wore.

The bride is a former graduate of Young Harris College and Piedmont College in elementary education.  She is also a former graduate student, having received her Master’s Degree from Walden University and her Specialist Degree from Piedmont College.  She currently teaches fifth grade and serves as the PBIS coach at her elementary school.

The groom attended Gainesville State College as a business major and has a successful career in the commercial lighting industry.  He also serves as a mentor to new employees in the office.  Being a former baseball player, Travis has also served as lead coach of a junior baseball team for special needs.

The couple now lives in Loganville, Georgia.  They both serve within their church and continue to build their wooden furniture business on the side while maintaining full-time careers.
