Duluth’s Event Season Calendar

Duluth’s Event Season Calendar
Over 80 events planned for 2016

Duluth – The City of Duluth is excited to release their 2016 Event Season Calendar. The theme “Be You. Be Duluth” will include favorites from 2015 with an added twist.

“This year expect to take some trips down memory lane while enjoying time with family and friends on Duluth Town Green” said Event Coordinator Maggie Waddell.

Events kick off early this year as Food Truck Friday & Flicks on the Bricks begin alongside Fridays N Duluth on May 6th. Food Truck Friday previously began in June. Flicks on the Bricks will present a free movie on the 1st & 3rd of every month from May–October. Signature events like Duluth Fall Festival, Duluth Celebrates America, Howl on the Green, Duluth Tree Lighting, Cookies & Cocoa with Santa and the NYE Extravaganza will ALL be back for 2016.

Bands performing at Duluth’s award–winning Summer Stage Concerts Series are Yacht Rock Revue, The Breakfast Club, Drivin N Cryin and On the Border.

Added to the event lineup is the Peach State Cornhole League. The popular tailgate game will consist of three 8-week leagues and will be a fun edition to Fridays N Duluth.

Duluth’s 8 day art week will consist of interactive activities such as colorful tree wrappings, tweet & seek, dance, theatre, music, eat like a local, geocaching, art scavenger hunt, digital art and more. The Aurora Theatre presents “Memphis” on May 14th to wrap up the event.

“We want to ensure our residents have a place where they can unwind and have a great time while seeing all the positive changes happening in Downtown Duluth” said Mayor Nancy Harris.

Last year, over 120,000 people attended Duluth City events from here in Gwinnett County and the Metro Atlanta area. Our hope is to attract more as changes to Downtown Duluth make the area a more walkable City with restaurants, shops, and performing art centers.
