Everything You Wanted to Know About Drones and Now Have Someone to Ask

Our guest speakers for the 1st Saturday in February Aviation Program and Pancake Breakfast will be Mr. Cliff Whitney.

Cliffs Aviation based businesses, atlantahobby.com, UAVexperts.aero and UAVexpertnews.com are bringing together his photography expertise and his talents as a pilot and marketing expert to change the world using new exciting remotely piloted aircraft. Cliff is one of the largest resellers of hobby and professional drones in the country.

Cliff has more than thirty years of senior management experience in wholesale, retail, on-line, and manufacturing spaces with a proven record of leadership and success. Prior to Atlanta Hobby, Cliff was a digital evangelist in the photo industry at Wolf Camera. Cliff started with the three-store company as a part time sales person and ended his nearly 30-year career after working to build the company to 700+ stores and over 600 million in sales. He served as WolfCamera.com’s President, Chief Operating and Chief Information Officer and as Senior VP of Internet Commerce and New Technology Development.

Cliff has been featured in the Wall Street Journal and on the cover of Internet Week and the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, and has been a guest lecturer at Georgia State University, Kennesaw State University, and Networld Interop, FlySafe and more.

Cliff says “The Aviation industry as well as Photography and the now rapidly growing UAV industry are such emotional spaces; they touch lives and change the world at all stages. I feel very rewarded to know that we are building products and enabling technology as well as exciting the students of our country to move society forward in a positive way using science, technology, engineering and mathematics. I am excited to be a part of this new frontier.”

Cliff enjoys manned aircraft and is a private pilot with a sailplane rating. He also flies ultralights and Hang Gliders. Cliff lives on Stony Point (6GA0), a private airpark community with his wife and two children, ages 19 and 17.
