Arcado Elementary School, Twin Rivers Middle School, Couch Middle School, and Grace Snell Middle School are among a select group of more than 600 schools nationwide that have received this national recognition since the program’s inception in 2004. ASCA will honor this year’s honorees at its national conference, which will be held in New Orleans in July.
“Receiving the RAMP designation means you are the BEST of the BEST! It shows that your school’s program is data driven to meet the needs of your school. It’s about being a reflective practitioner and continued quality improvement,” said GCPS Director of Advisement and Counseling Dianne Thompson.
The ASCA, which was founded in 1952, supports school counselors’ efforts to help students focus on academic, career, and social/emotional development so they not only achieve success in school but are prepared to lead fulfilling lives as responsible members of society.
“A comprehensive school counseling program benefits the school and students by removing barriers to student achievement, preparing well-rounded young adults, and improving graduation rates,” Thompson said.
ASCA is committed to establishing comprehensive school counseling programs that are based on the ASCA National Model. It provides professional development, publications, resources, research, and advocacy programs to school counselors around the globe.
