GCPL to Host Author and Philanthropist Clyde Strickland on June 14

Gwinnett County Public Library will host local author and philanthropist Clyde Strickland for a book signing event at the Suwanee Branch on Thursday, June 14 at 6:30 pm.

From sharecropper’s son to self-educated CEO, to creator and executive director of “American Made Movie,” Strickland begins each day reflecting upon what he can do to lead a fulfilling life. Each evening, he holds himself accountable by considering what he has accomplished. Having been a role model and mentor to all ages, Clyde offers his personal stories and insights in What Can I Do? an updated and enhanced version of his earlier, highly touted book, to guide teens, young adults, and others.

What Can I Do220Strickland, along with his wife Sandra, are longtime library advocates. Their support helped launch Career Online High School in 2016, a program that enables adult learners to earn their high school diploma through the library.

The program is free and open to the public. Books will be available for purchase and signing. The Suwanee Branch is located at 361 Main Street in Suwanee.
