This summer, the new Explore Book Mobile will travel a 35-stop route in the Norcross Cluster each week, checking out school library books to students who may not have easy access to the public library. The district’s first mobile library–the POW Book Mobile launched last May– will again serve students and families in the Meadowcreek Cluster. In addition to the summer stops in the Norcross and Meadowcreek clusters, other local schools will be able to “Book the Bus” during the school year as a part of this literacy initiative to get books in students’ hands as both Book Mobiles will be stocked with new books— purchased with donations or provided by sponsors— that can be provided to students free of charge. The new Explore Book Mobile will visit neighborhoods and apartment complexes in the Norcross Cluster. Specific routes are expected to be finalized by the end of the month. The schedules for both book mobiles will be publicized throughout the two clusters to ensure families are ready to read when the bus rolls in. Both buses will run from June 4 to July 27 with a holiday on July 4.
