PEACHTREE CORNERS – Georgia Power announced that a county-wide audit of all utility accounts has identified some customers were not accurately billed. As a result, the power company has started issuing letters to effected customers notifying them of additional charges on their next bill.

This affects both residential and business accounts in Gwinnett’s cities and unincorporated areas. The customers whose accounts have been identified by the audit will receive a letter shortly from Georgia Power informing them that they had been under-billed.

The amount due will vary by customer. Georgia Power will only go back three years in determining any additional amount due.

Those Georgia Power customers affected will receive a letter with additional information including a contact telephone number.
