Gwinnett County Parks and Recreation has so many ways to celebrate the haunting season. Some are spine-chilling and some are educational but all are family friendly:

· Witches’ Night Out is on Oct. 12 from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Bogan Park Community Recreation Center, 2723 North Bogan Rd. in Buford. Bring your friends and dress up for this be-witching soiree. Create a canvas masterpiece with a haunted theme while enjoying light refreshments. The event is for ages 16 and up, $15 per person. · Ghostly Get-Together will be at on Oct. 12 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at George Pierce Park Community Recreation Center, 55 Buford Highway in Suwanee. · The Bicentennial Bus Tour will feature the cemeteries of Gwinnett on Oct. 13 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. leaving from the Lawrenceville Female Seminary, 455 South Perry St. in Lawrenceville. Guests will explore historic churches and cemeteries of Gwinnett while learning the mysteries of Gwinnett’s past. The event is for all ages, $10 per person. · Not So Scary Night at the Museum on Oct. 13 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Lawrenceville Female Seminary, 455 South Perry St. in Lawrenceville. · Splish Splash Read will feature Spooky Night on Oct. 19 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Bethesda Park Aquatic Center, 225 Bethesda Church Rd. in Lawrenceville. In partnership with the Gwinnett County Public Library, the event will include a reading, interactive crafts, light refreshments and swimming. The event is for all ages and $6 per person. · Explore Every Day Folklore on Oct. 20 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Lawrenceville Female Seminary, 455 South Perry St. in Lawrenceville. Dive into the world of folklore, myths and tall tales. Guests will have the opportunity to spin with a drop spindle and make candles. This free event is for all ages. · Touch-a-Truck and Treat will be at Bogan Park Community Recreation Center, 2723 North Bogan Rd. in Buford. · Trick or Treat Trail is back this year on Oct. 20 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Rhodes Jordan Park, Pavilion #3, 100 East Crogan St. in Lawrenceville. This free event offers a hauntingly delightful time for the entire family. Wear your best costume, walk the trail, and collect candy at the haunted houses. · Mummy and Son Bicentennial Birthday Ball will be on Oct. 20 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at George Pierce Park Community Recreation Center, 55 Buford Highway in Suwanee. This year, both Frankenstein and Gwinnett turn 200, and we are celebrating with our annual mother and son Halloween dance! Superheroes, pirates, and other cute critters are invited to dress up and enter the costume contest. The event is for ages 4 and up and $11 per person. · Tales and Trails will be on Oct. 20 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the Gwinnett Environmental and Heritage Center, 2020 Clean Water Dr. in Buford. · Walk Among the Stars will be on Oct. 25 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Rock Springs Park, 550 Rock Springs Rd. in Lawrenceville. Blast off at the nation’s largest rally for out-of-school time while dressed in your best space costume. · “Dad”cula-Daughter Halloween Dance will be on Oct. 26 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Rhodes Jordan Park Community Recreation Center, 100 East Crogan St. in Lawrenceville. Fathers, Uncles, Grandfathers, or anyone with a special girl are invited to dress in their best costume and boogie to favorite spooky tunes! Enjoy a photo booth and light refreshments. · The Spook ‘n Splash will be on Oct. 26 at Bethesda Park Aquatic Center, 225 Bethesda Church Rd. in Lawrenceville. Create your own square pumpkin out of clay in our studio, listen to the Spookley story and enjoy light refreshments.
