Gwinnett Clean & Beautiful Premieres Pledge-a-Palooza to Inspire Environmental Stewardship
Environmentally-Focused Non-Profit Organization to Award $100 Prizes to 20 Lucky Participants Who Take the Pledge and Submit Photos of Their Good Works to Keep Gwinnett County Clean and Beautiful Between Now and July 1

Duluth, GA – June 24 – The environmentally-focused, community-based non-profit organization – Gwinnett Clean & Beautiful – is excited to kick off another promotion geared toward motivating local citizens, small businesses, and groups to become environmental stewards.

As part of its “Take the Pledge” campaign for 2014, Gwinnett Clean & Beautiful is kicking off Pledge-a-Palooza to inspire Gwinnettians to take action (and photos) in order to keep their part of the planet clean and beautiful. Going on now through July 1, 2014, Pledge-a-Palooza consists of three easy steps in order to be considered for one of 20 prizes of $100 each:

1. Take the Pledge: Participants are asked to visit http://www.GwinnettCB.org in order to Take the Pledge and be registered in the non-profit’s system. Taking the Pledge means that the “pledgee” is committed to being an environmental steward for Gwinnett County… caring for the land, water and endeavoring to “live green” every day by changing certain habits and practices at home, school, work and play. In the event that they’re already registered in the system for Taking the Pledge during recent months, the participant is ready to move on to step 2.

2. Take Part in a Planet-Friendly Activity: Participants are asked to take part in a planet-friendly activity that is listed on the Take the Pledge page, including: Put Litter in its Place, Recycle More, Wipeout Grafitti, Beautify Your Space, Grow Green, Save Our Streams, Reduce and Reuse, Green Up the Neighborhood and more. They will need to take photos of their participation as part of their submission for consideration for a prize.

3. Submit Your Pledge-a-Palooza Project and Pictures: Participants are asked to send a brief summary of their project, names of fellow participants or company/organization name, and pictures of their participation in submitted project to gwinnettcb@gwinnettcb.org by 5 p.m. on July 1, 2014. All submissions received by close of business on Tuesday, July 1 will be considered for one of 20 prizes of $100 each. Winners will be selected at random from submissions received and will be announced the week of July 7, 2014. Photos may be published.

“Pledge-a-Palooza represents a fun way for Gwinnett County residents and businesses to do their part for their local community,” says Connie Wiggins, Executive Director for Gwinnett Clean & Beautiful. “We had a terrific response to our last initiative – Great American Cleanup – Gwinnett Challenge 2014 – where we were able to engage more than 16,000 Georgians, collect more than 6000 pounds of recyclables, build a community playground, beautify 178 miles of roadway, and more over the course of 92 days. We are hoping to keep that same energy going with Pledge-a-Palooza.”
