•The April 9, 1913 edition of The Gwinnett Journal “Is aviation lawful?”
•Leo Frank was sentenced to hang on June 22, 1915. He was found guilty of the murder of a girl in the Atlanta pencil factory but the verdict was questionable.
•The March 24, 1923 edition of The Buford Advertiser wrote that Buford had a 4 legged chicken. The same paper also informed that Bona Allen began in 1873 with one mule in the tan yard. In 1923 Bona Allen produced 300 dozen pair of shoes.
•The News-Herald August 11, 1921: “Mr. W.T. Tanner is laying the material on his lot on Perry Street for the erection of a splendid two-story brick veneer home. When finished it will be one of the best and most modern homes in Lawrenceville.”

Kylie Heinrich, Tripp Elementary School Fifth Grader, was selected the Most Outstanding Elementary School Gifted Student of the Year. Kylie is the daughter of Stephanie and Noah Heinrich. Kylie’s grandparents are Randy and Jackie Rosamond. All are Grayson residents.
GEORGIA FIRST LADY SANDRA DEAL AT MOORE MIDDLE SCHOOL
During Teacher Appreciation Week First Lady Sandra Deal paid a visit to Moore Middle School in Lawrenceville, Georgia. Mrs. Deal taught in Hall County public schools and she spoke to teachers and students at Moore Middle School expressing her appreciation for their work in the school and community.

HOOPER RENWICK CELEBRATION
On Friday May 15, 2015 graduates and friends of Hooper Renwick school gathered in the school for a special service celebrating the history of the school and recognition of students who have attended the historic school. Principal Kim Mankin welcomed those attending, Jerolene Moore Flood and Rubye Neal gave talks about the school and recognized graduates of the class of 1948 and members of the last 11th grade class. Judy Baker spoke on the history of Hooper Renwick as a GNETS school.

Jane Alexander celebrated a special birthday during 2015 and lots of people gathered to enjoy food from the Varsity truck.
GWINNETT COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY AWARD
During the May 18, 2015 meeting of the Historical Society Cemetery Chairman Bobbie Tkacik presented certificates of appreciation to Ben Stewart and Tyler Holman for their work in identifying lots and families in Gwinnett cemeteries.
Ben walked Gwinnett cemeteries, numbered grave lots and found names of people and those who were in the military. Ben did this work as part of requirements for his Eagle Scout badge.
