Sam is survived by his wife, Deborah Rich; son’s, Donald Godwin (Beth), Michael Godwin (Amy) and Jeffrey Rich; his daughter, Kelly Rich Berumen (Jeff); grandchildren, Chaise Godwin, Joshua Godwin (Destinee), Michaela Godwin, Logan Godwin, Tyler Godwin, Mary-Frances Godwin, Marie Weisenborn, Jennings Camp and Holden Berumen; great-grandchildren, Lyllian and Lil Mike Godwin; brother J.B. Rich; niece, Diane Thompson (Tom), sister’s in law, Theresa Rackley (John), Donna Lynn (Jeff) and Patricia O’Kelley; and brother in law, Finley Boyd. He is preceded in death by his Father, William Jennings Bryan Rich; his Mother, Vernice Harold Rich; his sister, Menla Ann Rich and granddaughter Ashley Weisenborn.
Sam graduated 1949 from Bainbridge High school in Bainbridge Ga, attended College at Middle Georgia College, and Georgia State College. Sam was a Navy Veteran of the Korean War, an accomplished Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter with many years in community service through Church, Indian Guides, Cub Scouts, Webelos, BSOA, and many years walking the trail with his wife former City of Snellville Councilwoman Deborah Rich.
The Funeral Service to honor and celebrate the life of Sam Rich will be held on Saturday, August 25, 2018, at 2:00 PM at Snellville United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Eternal Hills Memory Gardens, Snellville, GA. Reception immediately following interment at Snellville UMC. The family will receive friends on Friday, August 24, 2018, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Tom M. Wages Snellville Chapel.
