Atlanta - Strengthening its reputation as a model for nonprofit organizations dedicated to the needs of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, Hi-Hope Service Center has achieved a three-year accreditation from The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) in recognition of its robust Community Housing, Integration, and Employment Supports programs.

The accreditation decision represents the highest level of accreditation that can be awarded to an organization and shows the organization’s substantial conformance to the CARF International standards. An organization receiving a Three-Year-Accreditation has put itself through a rigorous peer review process. It has demonstrated to a team of surveyors during an on-site visit its commitment to offering programs and services that are measurable, accountable, and of the highest quality.

At Hi-Hope, we believe that it is our responsibility and privilege to deliver exceptional, quality programs and services for adults of all abilities. Our commitment to quality is more than a promise, it is what drives our ongoing pursuit for organizational excellence to meet the individual needs of each person served”, said Susan Boland Butts, CEO of Hi-Hope. “Each day is filled with life enrichment opportunities that allow our individuals to develop life skills, discover and pursue their own interests, and participate in real world experiences that equip them to be valuable contributors to the community.”

To substantiate the three-year accreditation, the Survey Outcome Report documented the following comments from CARF Surveyors: “Hi-Hope Service Center clearly reflects a dedication to providing an environment centered around the individuals served…Hi-Hope has a well-developed strategic plan that provides the organization with a strong foundation to work from…Staff members genuinely care about the individuals served….Individuals served are treated with dignity and respect, and given opportunities to experience success in their programs and in their lives.”

Sponsored by the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD), Hi-Hope serves clients throughout Gwinnett, Barrow, Dekalb and Fulton counties with varying diagnoses, including; autism, cerebral palsy, Down Syndrome, Fragile X, and other cognitive and intellectual disabilities.
