In 2021, I wish for more happy moments. Last year was probably the worst year, worldwide, for a lot of people.
We can all come to the conclusion that 2020 was a year of hardship. It felt similar to a fever dream, with droves of different events crashing into each other to create this horrible collage of political tensions, social injustice, and global disease.
It was a hot July day at Ben Epps Airport in Athens GA. I stood on the concrete runway watching my twenty year old son take his first flying lesson. He was excitedly anticipating this adventure and I was thrilled for him.
It’s time to shower Mom with appreciation, love and gifts that say, “Thank you and I love you Mom”.
Writing articles over the last few years has been more than a blessing! Not only did I fulfill a lifelong dream to be a published writer, but it also gave me a chance to “pay it forward.” Each article was written with the ultimate goal of bringing smiles and hope to those that may be facing their own personal challenges.
Little did I know that writing for the paper would eventually change my teaching career as well!
