International Festival brings cultural experience to Snellville

SNELLVILLE – The Around the World International Festival will again be celebrating the cultural diversity in the city with a variety of international experiences.

The fifth annual festival will take place from 12-6 p.m., Sept. 20 on the Towne Green in front of City Hall.  The Parade of Nations will kick off the festival at noon.

Non-stop, colorful international entertainment will include Japanese swordsmen, bagpipers, Caribbean dancers, Mexican dancers, An Ka Fo drums and dancers, dancing lions and the Philippine Bamboo Pole Dancers. Some of the entertainment will remain throughout the event interacting with spectators.

International food from local restaurants will be available for purchase. The Global Sports Zone will have a variety of international games to play. Inflatables and a train ride will be on hand. The popular International Kids Craft Zone will offer a wide variety of activities for the kids, including a “design your own flag” coloring activity with prizes for different age groups.

Residents are encouraged to wear costumes representing their home or ancestral countries.
