It’s fall, that means sports

It's fall, that means sports

The secret fact.  No one dares admit in sport success is the necessity of superhuman lawn care. At Grayson High School, former GHS baseball athlete/current Assistant Coach Kegan Bailey showed a willingness to deal head on with this issue by posing for the Varsity Team picture ON the team tractor. He was supported not only by the Varsity team but also by Head Coach Bill Batchelor and Assistant Audra Thomas.

Grayson Athletic Association depends on dedicated citizens like John and Amy Riffle to keep the momentum for the hundreds of young athletes that benefit from the Bay Creek Facilities. John and Amy, shown with their 4 children, are on the GAA Board, where John serves as Softball Director.

In other GAA sightings,  Kendrick sisters of Grayson adjust their sporting preferences seasonally.  The sisters, Gracie in fourth grade and sister Anna are both All Star Softball Athletes in the summer and switching to cheering  in the fall.  Gracie likes to tumble while sister Anna likes to jump on the trampoline. They both go to Starling Elementary School.

At the top of the stadium, shown are the 2014-2015 Shiloh football and cheer Seniors. Led by Troy Hobbs, head Varsity Football Coach at Shiloh High School for 2 years, the team has made some dramatic inroads in building a strong team. They are part of the team that built last year’s best record in over 10 years (5-5 for the Generals) and with another season ahead of them, the rest of us need to stay tuned.

The Senior athletes at Loganville Christian Academy formed a panorama of athletes representing a range of fall sports.  Andre King, a professional football and baseball athlete is Athletic Director and Head football Coach.  With support and vision from school Founders and Administrators, Christie and Doug Monda,  Andre has built a vital and ever growing sports program.

Sooner or later, its really about the grades and Peachtree Ridge’s perpetually outstanding Competition Cheerlead- ing Squads recognize that by honoring there scholar athlete—those with 90% and above scholastic records.  Here striking some heartwarming intellectual poses are Senior Trung Vo, surrounded by Sarah Alexander, Spencer Crooker, McKenzie Lett, Marley Neal, Alexis Nowall, Anela Zorn and Deasia Lamar.

I have known Andy Dyer since he was a photo icon on the wall of the Brookwood High School Field House.  The outstanding football and baseball athlete spent a few years as an Assistant Coach under Mill Creek Head Coach Shannon Jarvis and then went on to open Archer High  School’s football program in 2009.  He and beautiful wife Kim and their two children are part of the exciting new corner of our Gwinnett world that is Tiger Country.  And yes, one parent/Tiger fan/admirer, while raving about his excellent Coaching abilities closed with., “And I’ve seen him on his off time, riding around on his mower, working the field.”
