It’s that time of year…

It’s that time of year...

It’s that time of year again.  The kids are full of candy from Halloween and everyone is prepping for Thanksgiving at home or out of town.  We’re all marking off dates on our calendars and planning our yearly traditions. You may already be making your shopping lists for Black Friday and Cyber Monday, or you may read this, panic, and start working on a list now.

Try as we might to not let one holiday overshadow another, it always seems like the Holidays come at us full speed, side swipe us and pass in a blur.  So, this year, instead of focusing so much on one or the other, try to focus on what the season is for.

If you break it down by month you could say November is the time to be thankful, December a time to give back, and January a time to reflect on your year and plan for the next. This year, enjoy the holidays.  Spend time each day of each month giving thanks, giving back and reflecting.  A little multi-tasking can lead to a lot of relaxation and even more enjoyment.

Speaking of multi-tasking, did you know you could get everything you need for the Holidays without going to a mall? The Lawrenceville Square has changed so much over the last few years, if you haven’t been there lately, you should make a trip.  The square is full of shops and activities for everyone, but without the huge crowds or long lines you will see at the mall. Iron Accents Lawrenceville, located just outside of the square, directly across the street from the Aurora Theatre, has beautiful Thanksgiving serving dishes and centerpieces, 9 themed Christmas trees to choose décor from, tons of mini trees, garland and wreaths, home décor, metal calendars, baskets and containers for organizing, gifts galore, and even a toy store to keep your little ones entertained while you shop.  You can pick your decorations and your gifts, leave it all to be gift wrapped (for free) and take your family to the square for lunch and ice cream.  What could be better than organizing your home and buying all of your decorations, décor, and gifts, while supporting small businesses, and spending the day with your family? Just think of what you could do with all of that extra time!

Make this Holiday season last!  Relish every minute of it. Give Thanks, Give Back, and Reflect, but most of all, Enjoy.
