Knee pain relief

Causes of Knee Pain (Osteoarthritis)

Knee pain can be debilitating and negatively impact ones quality of life if not addressed. Chronic knee pain is most commonly the result of arthritis in the joint. Osteoarthritis of the knee refers to the degeneration of joint cartilage and bone, which in turn leads to less mobility, swelling and pain and is a leading cause of disability in the United States.

Treatment for Knee Pain

Our goal at Medipractic Pain Management is to provide knee pain relief without painful surgery and rehabilitation. In the knee, joint fluid produced by your body that acts as lubricant to the joint begins to decline with age. When this joint fluid, commonly referred to as Synovial Fluid, becomes less readily available to the joint the painful symptoms increase. Replacing that fluid with an all-natural substitute by way of injection has proven to prolong the life of the knee joint and eliminate the painful symptoms.

Research has shown that an increase in synovial fluid to the joint can help increase the production of cartilage, nourish the surrounding tissue and help aid as a buffer or cushion to the joint. Furthermore, incorporating conjunctive physical therapy in addition to the injections yields the best result. We take a “full body” approach to your health as we realize that nothing in the body happens in isolation. The treatments we provide for knee pain are as follows:

Hyalgan injections (see below)

•Active and Passive Physical Therapy for the surrounding soft tissue

•Supporting the knee with a custom brace

•Detoxing and cleaning the joint

Hyalgan® Injections for Knee Pain

Knee pain associated with arthritis can be treated with an all-natural solution called Hyalgan that is painlessly injected directly into the knee. The body produces Hyalgan‘s main ingredient, sodium hyaluronate naturally as its main purpose is to provide lubrication for the joints. As part of the aging process the bodies’ ability to produce this lubrication begins to slow down and thus, the painful symptoms associated with arthritis begin to appear. Medicare and most insurance plans cover Hyalgan injections. Dr Willis can be reached at (770) 496-0326. For more information visit http://medipractic.com
