By the time you read this we will have been in business for 33 years! I opened “Eddie’s” in 1988. Wow, That is really unbelievable.
Needless to say, 2020 was a difficult year. We are classified as an “essential” business. Basically that meant that we never shut down during the pandemic. March was especially difficult. You could almost hear the grass grow. But, Wanda and I made the decision to stay open, hunker down, dig deep and keep our employees working even if that meant cleaning the shop, or working on their own cars (which mechanics don’t really get a lot of time to do, it’s like the old saying that the cobblers kids have no shoes).
I heard someone say once “life was like a roll of toilet paper, the closer to the end the quicker it goes”. Ironic, 2020 will now be associated with toilet paper, LOL! And keeping a shop the size of ours supplied during 2020, well that’s a story for another time. All I can say is, thanks Wanda.
Matt our service writer, was not even born when I opened Eddie’s. Matt was born many months AFTER I started Eddie’s Automotive Service, hard to imagine.
Our success, our ability to survive & thrive is due to many things and decisions but being part of this amazing community has also had a big impact on our success. Without, you, our customers and friends not only would we not be in business, but we could not have been successfully in business for 33 years. Thank you.
So, we look forward. We are seeing more and more of you. For now we are all learning to navigate life in a new way. For us it has meant sometimes picking up and delivering your cars after a service. I cannot say enough that it is very important, even if you are not driving your car right now, to keep up the maintenance of your vehicle. Tires dry rot , batteries go dead, etc. Call us when you need us and we will help figure it out.
