•Dr. Sharon Smith is 2015 Gwinnett County Teacher of the Year. Dr. Smith is teacher of gifted first and second graders at Brookwood Elementary School.
•All 46 Snellville Policemen have cameras.
•Heather Martin Emerick of Dacula is now a senior international regulatory affairs specialist at CryoLife Inc.
•David A. Landis of Dacula received the Lifetime Service to Wrestling Award from the National Wrestling Hall of Fame and Museum in Stillwater, Okla.
•Dan Forsman of Lawrenceville has been recognized by the Atlanta Business Chronicle as the Most Admired CEO for Residential Real Estate in August.

THANKS FOR MILITARY SERVICE
Victor Long of Lawrenceville (above) served for five years in the U.S. Navy. After returning to civilian life he was recalled to active duty and sent to Bosnia where he was stationed during 1999-2000. He only saw the ocean from a transport plane as he flew to Bosnia, he is pictured in front of the vehicle that he drove while serving in Bosnia.
Five brothers served in the military, three in the army during WW II and one during WW II and Korea, one in Korea. Herbert Long of Norcross was in the D Day invasion, Clifford fought in the Italian invasion, Lloyd served in Germany, Gordon in the Air Force stationed in Korea, William Dean Long was in the Air Corps stationed in Colorado and Boca Raton, Florida during WWII and during the Korean War he was in the Air Force in Pope Field, North Carolina. (Army The Air Corps was no longer part of the army during the Korean War it had been renamed Air Force and was separated from the army).
GWINNETT COUNTY RETIRED EDUCTORS ASSOCIATION
Lori Ziecker directed music programs at Brookwood High School, Duluth High and Collins Hill High School before she retired. Lori presents music programs at all GCREA meetings and supervises Georgia Southern University student teachers. She still volunteers many hours planning and presenting school music programs. Lori also does the Communications and E-Mail for the Gwinnett Retired Educators Association.
