We are in a spiritual battle. Scripture tells us that the main tactic of the evil one is to distract us from the truth. He is the father of lies! He wants us to keep looking down at the danger, watch the train wreck when the real action looms above! The Lord Jesus wants us to keep looking up! Hebrews 6:18 assures us: “…it is impossible for God to lie…” The Devil is the Wizard! Jesus tells us of the devil in John 8:44 and following: “He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies. But because I tell the truth, you do not believe me. Which one of you convicts me of sin? If I tell the truth, why do you not believe me? Whoever is of God hears the words of God. The reason why you do not hear them is that you are not of God.”
Fake news and lies upon lies saturate our every waking moments. Practically everything we have been taught in our whole life is from the father of lies if we believe the Word of God. We need to wake up to these lies. We are told in 1 John 5:19: “We know that we are from God, and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one.” God who created everything we see, He wakes us to the truth; then, we rest in His Son, the Way, the Truth, and Life! I challenge you to test everything you have learned from the world to the things you see in the sky, the food you eat, the programs you watch and the real authority over you! Recognize the Wizard has lied to you, and the goal of the Wizard is to keep you in Oz.
Paul reminds us: “…be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.” (Ephesians 6:10-12) Pray to the God of Truth to open your eyes to the deception! It runs deeper than you think, yet, the Word of God alerts us!. Rest in His Son, the Way, the Truth, and Life! When you do, Satan’s deception will be as obvious as Toto pulling back the curtain to reveal “the Wizard”! Do not be his victim any longer. May 2019 be your year of “truth” awake in the real world and Toto too!
