Fun Frights in October!

Fun Frights in October!
By Soraya Bagheri

It’s October! And Halloween time! Halloween is one of my favorite times of the year. I love dressing up in fun costumes and going trick-or-treating with your friends!

Not only do I love the dressing up part, I love watching Halloween movies. Such as Halloween, Friday the 13th, Hocus Pocus, The Haunted Mansion, and Disney Channels original, Halloween Town!

And how could you forget the best part of Halloween?! Carving Pumpkins! In my family, we have a tradition. Every year we have a competition to see who can carve their pumpkin with the coolest design. The trick is, we have come up with the picture ourselves. Once everyone is done, we light our pumpkins and pick the best one for our “family contest.” No, I haven’t won yet, but I’m getting better!

If you’re looking for a real scare, haunted houses are the place for you this Halloween. I love going to haunted houses with my cousins and my friends. The best part of the haunted house, is after the haunted house! First, because I’m glad that its over. 2nd, because it is funny to talk about how each of us reacted to it!

However, costumes are by far my favorite part of Halloween! My favorite costumes are the ones that I have come up with along with my friends. This year, my friends and I, are going together as characters from our favorite movie, Napoleon Dynamite.

** Couch Middle School 8th grade orchestra will be playing with Grayson High School 9th grade and Bay Creeks 8th grade orchestra @ Grayson High School on October 29th!

I hope that your Halloween is full of fun and scary! Enjoy!!
