More than 20 volunteers took environmental ownership in the park and worked to protect critical amphibian habitat, by reclaiming an area from destructive invasive plants. More than 300 plants were installed and the volunteers hope to find the plants and wildlife flourishing upon their return next year.
In partnership with the National Environmental Education Foundation (NEEF), volunteers joined hundreds of thousands of people at sites throughout the country to take part in the annual National Public Lands Day. National Public Lands Day is the nation’s largest, single-day volunteer effort for public lands. NEEF uses the day to connect people to public lands and their communities, inspire environmental stewardship, and encourage use of public lands for education, recreation and general health. The efforts ensure that public lands continue to be beautiful places for all to enjoy. Jones Bridge Park is located at 4901 East Jones Bridge Rd. in Peachtree Corners.
