The public is invited to attend the ceremony to remember Murphy and other fallen heroes who have sacrificed their lives to protect our nation and our communities.
The keynote address will be given by Navy Capt. Baron V. Reinhold, commanding officer, and professor of Navy Science for the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps at Morehouse College and Georgia Tech. Other officials scheduled to speak include Gwinnett County District 1 Commissioner Jace Brooks and District 2 Commissioner Lynette Howard. Law enforcement honor guards will also participate in the ceremony.
The Memorial Day ceremony will be televised beginning at 8 p.m. on May 28 on TVgwinnett, the County’s local government access cable channel. TVgwinnett programming is also available streaming and on demand at www.tvgwinnett.com.
The Gwinnett Fallen Heroes Memorial, located on the grounds of the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center, 75 Langley Drive in Lawrenceville, honors all Gwinnett residents who died in the line of duty in military or public service.
