BOE names two principals at December meeting

At its regular monthly meeting, the Gwinnett County Board of Education named two local school leaders to fill upcoming vacancies prompted by the appointment of current principals to new positions. Both of these appointments are effective January 2, 2019.

Gwenda N. Nimmo-Smith has been tapped to become the new principal of Annistown Elementary School as its current principal, Dr. Steve Frandsen, transitions to the principal role of the International Transition Center. Ms. Nimmo-Smith currently serves as an assistant principal at Rockbridge Elementary School.

Dr. Barbara M. TuckerDr. Barbara M. TuckerDr. Barbara M. Tucker was appointed as the new principal of Fort Daniel Elementary. Dr. Tucker, who serves as an assistant principal at Bethesda Elementary, will succeed Paul Willis who will transition to become the principal of Cooper Elementary School.
