This eight-foot-tall, large clay form was unveiled by sponsor Clyde Strickland of Lawrenceville, GA, and project sculptors Mullins and Kathy Fincher. The design, “I’ve Been to the Mountaintop,” was made by Mrs. Fincher, and approved by the National Monument Foundation. When the completed bronze statue is finished, it will be dedicated on Dr. King’s birthday, January 16, 2023, at the Rodney Cook, Sr. Peace Park in Vines City.

The project is part of Strickland’s World Peace Revival. “We want to bring the nation back together through the example, words and teaching of Dr. King,” Strickland said.
