The Community Foundation’s Good2Give Community Fund provides the funding for the grants, along with the help of the Community Foundation’s generous fundholders. The grants received are just a portion of the estimated $5 million the Community Foundation will pour into nonprofits this year, along with educational programming and other support services.
“This is why we do what we do,” said Randy Redner, president, and CEO of the Community Foundation. “We are surrounded by many incredible nonprofits doing incredible work each and every day. To be able to support some of them in the work they do, to help them impact even more people and change even more lives – that is part of our mission at the Community Foundation.
“Including this year’s grants, the Community Foundation has now donated over $80 million to worthy charities since 1985!”
The main focus of this year’s grant awards was food insufficiency, early education, and homelessness. However, up to one-third of the Community Foundation’s grant funding was also allocated for programs and projects outside of the focus areas, including the arts, healthcare, and more.
“Our grants committee worked tirelessly to selected our 27 nonprofit winners,” Redner said. “It was not an easy task. Additionally, our generous fundholders stepped in again, allowing us to go above and beyond so we could grant all of those 27 requests. We are so thankful for the incredibly generous community and fundholders we have!”
Anyone can give to the Community Foundation’s Good2Give Community Fund. There is no age limit or dollar amount restrictions on the fund as giving is something the Community Foundation wants the entire community involved in. To donate or learn more, visit www.cfneg.org.
