Got an outdoor-centered kid? Check out this amazing ‘Adventures in Conservation Education” camp opportunity

Does your upcoming or current middle school child have a little “wild” in them?  Let them explore the coastal areas of Georgia this summer at the Adventures in Conservation Education camp.  Participants at this camp will spend five days immersed in Georgia wildlife via hands-on activities and day trips, all while visiting some amazing coastal eco-systems.

“We received a T.E.R.N. grant this year helping us keep the cost of this extraordinary camp extremely affordable for each child, and allowing us to visit even more places, like Sapelo Island, Jekyll Island and the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge” said Amber Barrow, Wildlife Interpretive Specialist.

So, how do you register? Children must be entering a 6th-8th grade class by the time of the summer camp to qualify. Each interested child must submit an essay. These essays will determine who is selected to participate in the camp.

The camp will take place July 16-20. The cost of the camp, thanks to the T.E.R.N. grant, is only $150 per participant. The maximum number of spots for this camp is 16. The application deadline is May, 20, 2018.

The Environmental Resource Network, or T.E.R.N., is a Friends group of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources’ Wildlife Resources Division. Their mission is to aid in the financial support of the activities of the Nongame Conservation Section. More about T.E.R.N. at https://tern.homestead.com.
