Greater Atlanta Christian School names new Athletic Director, Tim Hardy

NORCROSS - Greater Atlanta Christian School (GAC) is pleased to announce current Head Football Coach and Assistant Athletic Director, Tim Hardy, has been named its new Athletic Director.  Tim has been the GAC Head Football Coach since 2012 where he has led the Spartans to a 71-13 record, including four consecutive Region championships, appearances in the State Semi-finals or Finals in five of the past six seasons, and was named the 2014 AA Coach of the year.

Tim Hardy

His previous coaching experience included ten years at the collegiate level at Wheaton and Centre College, where he coached five NCAA Division III playoff teams and one NCAA Division III National Semi-finalist, and three years as Head Coach at Mountain View High School.

GAC President-Elect Dr. Scott Harsh said, “Tim Hardy is uniquely qualified, wise, deeply passionate, energetic, and a proven leader. He embraces and lives our mission. He’s been able to work as Assistant Athletic Director the past few years to learn how to lead an athletic program with excellence.”

A college football player himself, one of Coach Hardy’s strengths is his dedication to helping our athletes pursue their dreams of playing sports in college. His relationship with coaches at the college level and that commitment has enabled 44 Spartan football players in the past six years to go on to the next level and play football in college.

“Greater Atlanta Christian is a place that is about honoring God as we pursue excellence spiritually, academically, and athletically.  GAC Athletics has a rich tradition of developing young men and women through competition.

I am honored to step into the role of Athletic Director at GAC.  With over 70 teams on campus, we have a broad athletic program that directly touches a large number of our students.  Our athletic teams are a source of pride for the GAC Community and a training ground for our young people. As coaches and leaders, we have the unique opportunity to partner with our students and families as they pursue one of their passions.  In turn, we can help facilitate transformative growth in their lives through intentional personal development during training, practice, and competition.

I am excited to serve our students and support our coaches in the upcoming years.  I truly believe that the best is yet to come for GAC.”  Tim Hardy

Tim will continue to serve in his current position as Head Football Coach. Hardy earned a B.A. in business and economics from Wheaton College, an M.S. in managerial leadership from National-Louis University, and an Ed.S. from Valdosta State University in coaching pedagogy.
