Representing South Gwinnett High School is Nia Kidd. Nia attended both South Gwinnett High School and Snellville Middle School and was recommended by her teacher for outstanding academic achievement and participation in numerous extracurricular activities including National Beta Club and JROTC. Nia hopes to pursue a career in economics or international affairs.

Representing Archer High School is John Murphy. John’s teacher described him as a dedicated student with a passion to mentor and help others. John will attend Georgia College and State University.

This scholarship was originally given annually to a deserving South Gwinnett senior by the Snellville Middle School PTA in honor of Reid Mullins’ 20 years of service as the first middle school principal in Gwinnett County.

The scholarship was expanded in 2011 to include a graduate from Archer High School and is now administered through the Gwinnett County Schools Foundation.
