Since 1932, the AAPA has provided scholarships to women from the Atlanta area, as part of its goal of supporting academic achievement among women. “Eliza is an exceptional young lady and very deserving winner of this scholarship,” said AAPA President, Rigby Duncan.
Antonowich, a resident of Norcross, is the daughter of Michael and Andrea Antonowich. Eliza has maintained a 3.9 GPA while taking 11 AP classes at Norcross and being enrolled in the IB Diploma Programme, the most rigorous course of study offered at the school. She served as President of her Junior Class, the captain of multiple sports teams, and she also spearheaded the Norcross High Blue Devils Run for the last 3 years to raise tens of thousands of dollars for sports teams at the school. She is active in Mothers and Daughters against Cancer, Christ the King Lutheran Church, and numerous other groups.
Antonowich will attend Washington University in St. Louis, where she will study pre-health and then go to medical school.
Antonowich was presented with her scholarship during the AAPA Scholarship Luncheon on May 7, 2016 held at the Cherokee Town Club in Atlanta, Georgia.
