Atlanta Balalaika Society presents “An evening of music, dance and song from Slavic lands”

The Atlanta Balalaika Society will present a concert of music, dance, and song from Slavic lands on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at 7:30pm at the Roswell Cultural Arts Center, 950 Forrest St., Roswell, GA 30075. Tickets may be purchased in advance by calling (404) 292-7176, with a credit card at www.atlantabalalaika.com, beginning October 1, 2014, or in the lobby with check or cash one hour prior to the performance.

Adult tickets are $20, students and seniors $18, and children 12 years and under are $7.

The concert will feature the dance duo of Larissa Nazarenko and Tyler Worth, and vocalist Zhanna Ketslakh. The Atlanta Balalaika Society will perform with domra virtuoso Angelina Galashenkova-Reed, bayan soloist Alla Melnik, John Huston on guitar, and balalaika soloist, David C. Cooper.

The Atlanta Balalaika Society, now in its 33rd year, is one of the largest orchestras of Russian folk instruments outside of Russia, and is the primary promoter of Russian folk culture in the Southeast. Colorfully dressed in traditional folk costumes, the orchestra performs on balalaikas, domras, and bayans (Russian button accordions), along with other ancient wind and percussion instruments.

The Atlanta Balalaika Society is a non-profit 501(c)(3) community orchestra dedicated to the performance and preservation of Russian and Eastern European folk music in the Southeast and in the United States.
