The Foundation’s money was used specifically to help bring online the interactive nursing lab that gives students valuable hands-on learning experiences with state of the art equipment.
Judy Waters, Executive Director of the CFNEG, shared with Gwinnett Tech executives as she presented the check, “I am thrilled to stand with you today in this clinical nursing suite and know what a difference we’ve made in the lives of so many students. Our nursing graduates will be so well prepared as they embark upon their careers thanks to the exceptional quality of education they receive here at Gwinnett Tech.”
Gwinnett Tech launched it’s Legacy of Lives campaign in January of 2011, rallying business, healthcare, and civic leaders to support the education and training of the healthcare professionals needed for the region. The cornerstone of the campaign, GTC’s Life Sciences Center, is a vivid example of strong partnerships between business and education and the resulting quality of life benefits for the community. Waters states, “The Community Foundation for Northeast Georgia is honored to partner with Gwinnett Tech to bring this state-of-the-art learning facility online and know it’s a wise investment that will have a great impact on the health of our community for many years to come.”
The Community Foundation for Northeast Georgia was founded in 1985 by a group of community-minded citizens to receive and disburse charitable funds for an improved quality of life across northeast Georgia. The Foundation serves a multitude of counties across metro Atlanta and northeast Georgia. CFNEG manages charitable funds for individuals, non-profit organizations and businesses. Over the past 29 years, the Foundation has given over $52 million back to the community.
