While taking the popular “ALS Ice Bucket Challenge” on Friday, Aug. 15, Wilson announced that the Grizzlies were teaming up with the ALS Association of Georgia to help in the fight.
The Grizzlies will donate all ticket proceeds from the women’s soccer team’s Opening Day game this fall, Aug. 24 against Faulkner (Ala.), to ALS Georgia. The game will take place at the Grizzly Soccer Complex on campus in Lawrenceville. General admission tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for youth, seniors and military members.
Wilson answered the challenge from the Grizzly student-athletes and staff, led by the women’s soccer team, which had first brought the Challenge to campus.
“We are very excited to raise awareness, and most importantly, dollars, to help our Georgia Chapter in their determined fight,” said Wilson. “We look to strengthen key external relationships such as this in our community. But first, we need to dry off!”
